and, most importantly, your clients and end-users?

There are two parts to the trust / security / privacy equation. One is the aspect which everyone associates with these terms: passwords,secure links,routers &
Reliance on the Web, Cellphones & Computers ... calculated? Or simply using the most convenient ways of communicating with each other and processing data? The answer doesn´t really matter.

Companies and public bodies regularly grapple with the uncomfortable fact that once data escapes (or is dug out by someone/something), it´s out there. There is no recall option. Individuals make sweeping assumptions that large (and small!) organisations take good care of data. Trust is a hugely powerful, yet fragile, commodity. How do you KNOW you can trust a company, a local authority, the Government, a charity, your doctor´s records? Simple.

You don't !

If you represent one of the examples listed, how do you ...

In short, we communicate using email and cellphones/mobiles/Handys, we´re entertained with streaming video and music (mp3s, WebTV, YouTube etc.).
firewalls etcetera. The other is that Users must feel safe ... but with reason!.
Travel is arranged with a few mouse clicks ... confidential medical, financial & other personal data sit in public spaces.

We really have NO accurate measure of where OUR data are at any moment. There´s a whole lot of misplaced »trust« in things »being safe and alright«.
Trust auditing & analysis highlights areas where perceptions AND realities of security / privacy... and hence TRUSTABILITY is compromised.
